- The present simple tense زمن المضارع البسيط

ملاحظات
1-نضيف (es) إلى الأفعال التى تنتهى بـ (ss /x /o /sh /ch) مثل - pass è passes fix èfixes – go è goes

2- يعبر عن حقيقة ========< . Wood floats on water
3- يعبر عن عادة ========> . He usually gets up early
4- نستخدمه بعد أدوات الربط الزمنية وهى=======> when /after /till/until /as soon as /the moment /if /unless
I will visit him as soon as he comes tomorrow.
5- إذا انتهى الفعل بحرف y مسبوق بحرف ساكن تحذف ونضيف ies
cry / try =====> cries / tries
6- إذا انتهى الفعل بحرف y مسبوق بحرف متحرك (a / e/ i / o/ u) نضيف s فقط
enjoy / play / pray ====> enjoys / plays / prays
- الكلمات الدالة هى =========>

تأتى هذه الكلمات قبل الفعل الرئيسى وبعد V.To Be

4- أفعال التملك : own / belong / posses – want /cost
# نحول المضارع المستمر الى المبنى للمجهول كما يلى :-
- المفعول + am / is / are + being + p.p.

The past simple tenseزمن الماضى البسيط
Formation :–يتكون الماضى البسيط من التصريف الثانى للفعل ونحصل عليه كما يلى:-
1 – We add ‘d’ to regular verbs ending in ‘e’.
invite ===è invited
2 – We add ‘ed’ to regular verbs that don’t end in ‘e’.
visit ==è visited
3 – Irregular verbs :—
*No change =====è cut—cut —-cut
*One change ===è sleep — slept—–slept
*Tow changes ==è give —–gave——given
ملحوظات مهمة :-
Œإذا كان الفعل ينتهى بحرف ساكن مسبوق بحرف متحرك يضاعف الحرف الساكن عند إضافة (ed)

إذا كان الفعل ينتهى بحرف ساكن مسبوق بحرفين متحركين لا يضاعف الحرف الساكن

الاستخدام :–
يعبر الماضى البسيط عن أحداث تمت فى الماضى وليس لها علاقة بالحاضر ويعبر عن عادة فى الماضى

- I no longer play football nowadays.
- No longer do I play football nowadays.
الكلمات الدالة :–

- in the past – from…… to…. – in + سنة فى الماضى - at + وقت ماضى
*نحول الماضى البسيط إلى المبنى للمجهول كما يلى:–

- The Past Continuous Tense
Formation :- (was / were) + V+ ing
e.g.: He was studying the lesson.
e.g.: He was studying the lesson.
Usage: It expresses an action in progress at a time in the past.
يعبر الماضي المستمر عن حدث كان مستمراً فترة معينة في الماضي
I was playing the piano all the evening yesterday.
Between sseven and half past seven this morning, I was having breakfast.

- فى حالة المبنى للمجهول :- + was / were being +P.P. المفعول

*The present Perfect Simple Tense
Formation:- have / has + p.p.
يعبر المضارع التام البسيط عن حدث بدأ فى الماضي ومازال مستمر حتى الآن أو انتهى قبل الآن بفترة بسيطة :-
He has been at school since seven in the morning.
He has just arrived. = He arrived a moment ago.
Key words:- الكلمات الدالة :–
- Already / just / ever / never ——–> وتأتى هذه الكلمات بين المساعد والرئيسى
- lately / recently ———> وتأتى هذه الكلمات بين المساعد والرئيسى أو فى نهاية الجملة
-So far / up till now ——–> وتأتى هذه الكلمات فى أول أو فى نهاية الجملة
-Over the years ————> وتأتى هذه الكلمة فى أول أو فى نهاية الجملة
-Now that ————> وتأتى هذه الكلمة فى أول الجملة
- yet ———–> وتأتى هذه الكلمة فى نهاية الجملة المنفية أوفى نهاية السؤال

Formation:- have been / has been + V+ing
يعبر المضارع التام المستمر عن حدث بدأ فى الماضى وماذال مستمر حتى الآن ولم ينتهى بعد:-
She has been studying English since 1990.
= She hasn’t finished studying English yet. = She is still studying English now.
= She began studying English in 1990 / 10 years ago.
لاحظ طريقة تحويل الجمل الآتية بكل عناية :-
1.I haven’t met him for a long time.
It`s ( It has been ) + المدة + since + ماضى بسيط مثبت
- It’s ( been ) a long time since I met him.
- I met him a long time ago.
2.I last ate fish when I was in Alex.
فاعل + مضارع تام منفى + since + بداية الحدث / for + مدة الحدث
- I haven’t eaten fish since I was in Alex.
- The last time I ate fish was when I was in Alex.
3. The last time he came to Egypt was in 1998.
فاعل + مضارع تام منفى + since + بداية الحدث / for + مدة الحدث
- He hasn’t come to Egypt since 1998.
- He hasn’t come to Egypt (for 11 years)
4. I have never seen you before.
It’s the first time +الفاعل ( have / has) + ever + p.p
- It’s the first time I have ever seen you.
5. I have never seen such an amazing bird.
الفاعل + صفة التفضيل ( have /has) +ever +p.p
- It’s the most amazing bird I have ever seen.
6. She has been studying English since 1990.
= She hasn’t finished studying English yet. ( yet )
= She is still studying English now. ( still )
= She began / started studying ( to study ) English in 1990 / 10 years ago. ( ago )
She has been studying English since 10 years ago.
7- He has been to Italy……. ( (هو ذهب إلى إيطاليا وعاد وهو الآن فى مصر
- He has gone to Italy……… ( (هو ذهب إلى إيطاليا ومازال هناك

Professor Magdi Yacoub
Professor Magdi Yacoub is a world-famous heart surgeon. He was born in Egypt in the village of Belbis in 1935,the son of a surgeon who worked in different places around the country. The family had to move every few years, so Yacoub learnt to adapt to different situations and enjoyed meeting different people.
When his aunt died because of a heart problem, He decided to become a heart surgeon. He studied medicine at Cairo University and qualified in 1957. In the 1960s, he taught at Chicago University in the USA and worked with many of the world’s best heart surgeons.
Now he had the qualifications and experience to do great things. In 1973, he became a heart surgeon at Harefield Hospital in England. Under his leadership, Harefield became the most important transplant centre in the country.
In the early 1980s, he was part of the team which did the first British heart transplant operation. At this time , he travelled thousands of kilometers in small planes and helicopters to find healthy hearts for transplants. Yacoub became professor of Heart Surgery at London University in 1986. Although he retired as a surgeon in 2001, he continued to research new treatments. Recently he was part of team which made new heart parts from human cells.
If you ask why he continues to work in his 70s , he will say that he believes he can make a difference to people’s lives. For this reason, he works for a charity in Africa which helps children with heart problems.

As it came near the corner, the taxi stopped suddenly. The driver got out looking very puzzled. A big lorry, which had been following the taxi, stopped too. The taxi driver was now standing at the corner looking up at the sky and the lorry driver went and joined him. A number of cars behind were forced to stop as well and soon a large crowd of people had gathered at the corner.
The cause of all this trouble was a very strange noise. It sounded as if thousands of birds were singing together. The noise was quite frightening and many people looked disturbed. The most extraordinary thing was that, a part from one or two pigeons, there was not a bird in sight. No one was able to solve the mystery, until two policemen arrived. They noticed a large advertisement for a film high up on a wall nearby. As the noise seemed to becoming from this direction, they climbed up and found a tape recorder had been hidden behind the advertisement. The noise made by birds singing was being broadcast over powerful loud speakers so as to attract the attention of passers by. The police asked the advertiser to take the recorder a way because the advertisement had attracted so much attention that it was impossible for a great many cars and buses to move freely in the street.
